Following 7 years of bringing Lothian Birders the best of the rare and scarce bird news and photos in the county, the Birding Lothian Website will be ending on the 31st of December 2015. It is regretable that the time needed to keep this website at the standard desired is no longer available to me. The decision to bring this website to an end was not an easy one, a lot of time and effort has gone into creating it, and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed with their sightings, photos, ideas and opinions, without them of course none of it would have been worth while. A special thanks to Mike Hodgkin who has gave up his time to run Birding Lothian when I have gone off in search of birds. The last website update will be on 31/12/15, then dissappear off our screens sometime in early January, make sure you get at last look at those past rares!
For those of you who are keen to keep up with the latest from Birding Lothian after December, you can now follow @birdinglothian on twitter, which will run in place of this website. Sign up at www.twitter.com. Here you will be able to keep up with the very latest bird news and images from Lothian, on your computer or smart phone (example on recent sightings page), sign up and don't miss out!
For this service to be at it's very best, I would appreciate your continued support.
Please keep on reporting your sightings by e-mail (email@example.com) or mobile (07794509106) even after December, so they can be displayed to others. On twitter you can report sightings by directing them to @birdinglothian.
Many thanks. Kris Gibb (site editor).
