FIRECREST - Skateraw - October 2009
On the 21st October 2009 this Firecrest was found by Ewan Forbes in bushes just west of the Dry Burn Mouth (Skateraw), it became a very popular bird especially with local photographers and showed well during its 3 day stay. It is only about the 14th record of this species in Lothian, and even provided a few with a county tick. This bird was part of a record-breaking arrival of Firecrests in Scotland, with at least 37 being reported that October alone including 2 found at St Abb's Head (Borders) the same day.
