This adult drake Ring-Necked Duck on Seafield Pond on the 26th April 2006 was only a one day bird and was during the week so not to many people caught up with it. A rare bird in Lothian but most would have saw the adult female on Gladhouse Res. in May 2002... I'm sure more would have rushed down to see this one had the Gladhouse bird not been found.
The following records may not be accurate. Female near Drem found in Febuary 1977, male at Duddingston in March 1982, a male on Linlithgow Feb - Mar 1989 & female on Gladhouse in May 2002. If these are correct the Seafield Pond bird would be only the 5th Lothian Record!
