Not an easy bird to see in Lothian, or anywhere in Scotland away from traditional wintering sites, this Taiga Bean Goose near Bavelaw was an unexpected find on the 18th November among the 1000 strong Pink-Feet flock. Seen only once in Nov the bird wasn't tracked down again until January 2007 when Mark wilkinson picked it out after dipping the Ferruginous Duck at nearby Threipmuir Res. The pictures below were taken when the bird was found.
Taiga Bean Goose, upper right hand bird in pictures. Poor quaility shots due to the distance of subject, light ect. taken as a record of the birds presence.
